Volunteer & Outreach

What is Rotaract?

Rotaract is not just a club; it’s a global movement that empowers young leaders to take action, develop leadership skills, and make a positive impact in their communities. With a history dating back to 1968, Rotaract has been at the forefront of promoting service, fellowship, and professional development.

Why Should You Join?
As medical students, our dedication to service aligns perfectly with the Rotaract mission. Joining the Trinity School of Medicine Rotaract Club is your chance to actively contribute to projects that matter, develop leadership skills, and establish connections with like-minded individuals. Beyond the immediate impact on your personal and professional growth, being a part of Rotaract can open doors to numerous residency programs and volunteer corporations.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:
1. Houston County Volunteer Clinic – practice your physical exam, vitals, history taking, and SOAP reports at the clinic that is serving those in our community who are working but uninsured.
2. Anti-Vaping Campaign – participate in reaching out to Houston County Schools to educate middle and high schoolers on the dangers of vaping and why they should stay away from it.
3. Literature Campaign – increase medical literacy targeting the BIG FOUR of chronic illnesses: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and asthma.
4. Recycling Campaign – please help us make our planet cleaner and greener by recycling your cardboard, plastics, aluminum, and glass in the bins around the MEC and at the LOFTs!

Big Brothers, Big Sisters

Joining Big Brothers Big Sisters offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on a child’s life in our community. By becoming a mentor, you can provide guidance, support, and friendship to a young person, helping them to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their potential. It’s a chance to give back to the community and create meaningful connections that can last a lifetime.
